The Perfectly Imperfect Quilter
I'm Elizabeth and I have been pursuing my passion of all things quilting for over 40 years. Since retiring from the work world I've been able to devote more time and energy into my craft, always seeking to learn and improve. I pour all my love and passion into every aspect of the quilting process. When I gave up the pursuit of perfection it opened up amazing opportunities to freely explore and create with no constraints. I seldom follow rules, and stopped looking over my shoulder for the Quilting Police.
It’s All In The Name
So, why did I choose North Star as the name for my quilting adventure? Well, I have wonderful memories of my Dad teaching me about the night sky when I was young. From the Big Dipper to Betelgeuse, to locating Pegasus and all the constellations we could see, the night sky was filled with mysteries and great beauty, and those stars touched my imagination. I loved hearing the stories about each and every one. But the North Star was my favorite. How from ancient time travelers, sailors, the lost, those seeking freedom, and all who wander could find their way home by following that bright path finder. It is always there to set your internal compass and find your true north and to me that meant there was one thing you could always count on. The North Star has always been my anchor because home is my heart place.
So when this journey becomes too scary and I get lost in the fear of not being enough, I will look to my star and find my way again. To home.
Thanks for joining me.
